STAGE II OF THE FIS WORLD CUP ON ROLLER SKIS
From August 14-18, on the basis of the Olympic Training Center for Winter Sports in the city of Shchuchinsk, the II stage of the FIS World Cup in roller skis among men and women will be held. More than 10 countries have already applied for participation, including: Italy, Germany, Norway, Latvia, Sweden, Kyrgyzstan, Morocco, China, Thailand and of course Kazakhstan!

In early June 2024, the 55th International Ski Congress was held in Reykjavik (Iceland). On behalf of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the event was attended by representatives of the National Ski Association - Secretary General A. Valiev and Executive Director I. Khananov.
The congress discussed the integration of freeride as a FIS discipline, the inclusion of two new FIS associate members: Guinea-Bissau and Qatar, and the selection of 18 Council members. In addition, the meeting considered financial reports, the report of the FIS President, changes to the constituent documents, issues of competence of the Committees, the calendar plan of championships and cups.
Based on the results of the 55th International Ski Congress, positive decisions were made to include ski and snowboard freeride as a full-fledged FIS discipline, to amend the FIS Charter and the date of their entry into force, on the results of elections to the FIS Council, including the representative of Paralympians.
The results of the procedures for the election of countries for future FIS world championships were announced. Thus, the upcoming events from 2028 will be held:
- FIS 2028 Ski Jumping World Championships - Planica (Slovenia);
- FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2029 - Narvik (Norway);
- FIS World Snowboard, Freestyle and Cross Country Championships 2029 - Zhangjiakou (China);
- FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2031 in Val Gardena (Italy).
Today, Vice President of the National Ski Association V. Smirnov visited the Paralympic Training Center and the Tarlan Ice Rink in Astana.
The vice-president of the Association was presented with a gym and playrooms reconstructed according to international standards, fully adapted for people with disabilities, a running track and an ice rink.
The Tarlan Ice Rink is a modern, compact and comfortable training facility with an indoor ice rink for winter sports.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to plans for future cooperation.
The leadership of the National Ski Association held a number of meetings with representatives of state bodies and the National Olympic Committee.
President of the Association D.Suleimenov officially presented the newly elected vice-president, legendary Kazakhstani skier, 1994 Olympic champion in cross-country skiing, four-time world champion, two-time winner of the Big Crystal Globe Vladimir Smirnov.
Minister of Tourism and Sports Ermek Marzhikpayev congratulated V.Smirnov on his election, as well as on the 30th anniversary of winning the first gold medal of the Winter Olympic Games in the history of independent Kazakhstan.
The words of congratulations during the meetings, as well as wishes in the revival of the rich traditions of cross-country skiing in our country, were expressed by the akim of the mountains. During the meeting, problematic issues and prospects for the development of skiing were discussed, events held as part of the participation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Winter Asian Games-2025 in Harbin (China) and the Winter Olympic Games-2026 (Milan-Cortina, Italy).
On April 12, 2024, an expanded meeting of the Conference of the National Ski Association of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held.
Together with the general secretaries of the National Olympic and National Paralympic Committees, representatives of federations as part of the Association, coaches and the sports community, a discussion was held on topical issues of the development of skiing and preparation for the Winter Olympic Games.
As the President of the Association noted, Mr. Suleimenov D.T. «the key to success will undoubtedly be the well-coordinated work of state bodies, public associations and coaching staff, aimed at providing athletes with the opportunity to fully open up for the season. Despite the great «competition», I believe that the potential of the Kazakh ski team is high. The decisions made at today's meeting will be a plan of action for the next 2 years».
After the expiration of the term of office, the composition of the Presidium of the Association was updated at the meeting. Along with other members, Vladimir Mikhaylovich Smirnov was elected vice-president of the Association.
During the event, the winners of the Youth Olympic Games and the Youth World Championship in 2024, Misernykh I. and Gorodko A., as well as their coaches, were awarded certificates with monetary incentives from the Association's funds in the amount equal to government payments.
Anastasia Gorodko won Gold at the Junior Freestyle Mogul World Championships in Chiesa in Valmalenko (Italy).
In the final, she scored 71.89 points, the second was the Japanese Marine Ito - 71.35 points and closed the top three Yuma Taguchi (Japan) - 69.96 points. At the last world championship in 2022, Anastasia Gorodko won three awards. She won the competition in the parallel mogul, and also became the second in the individual competition and in the team mix.

Kazakhstan Sherzod Hashirbayev won the gold medal of the European Cup in freestyle acrobatics, held in the Swiss city of Airolo.
The first place was won by Sherzod Hashirbaev - 96.93 points, the second place went to the Ukrainian Maxim Kuznetsov - 94.82 and the third place was taken by the Swiss Pirmin Werner - 93.99. It is noted that Khashirbaev marked two medals at this tournament. Before that, he became the third.
The Kazakhstan athlete of the Center for Olympic Training in Winter Sports Danil Vasiliev became the leader of the first competitive day of the FIS Cup.
The Polish city of Zakopane hosts the FIS Ski Jumping Cup. In jumping from a large hill hill hill 140, our Danil Vasilyev won the gold medal. FREESTYLE MOGUL WORLD CUP STAGE IN ALMATY: PAVEL KOLMAKOV WON SILVER.
One of the leaders of Kazakhstan's freestyle mogul team Pavel Kolmakov became the silver medalist of the World Cup in Almaty. In the semifinals, Kolmakov was stronger than Finn Severi Vierela. In the big final, he faced the titled Canadian Mikael Kingsbury. In the decisive race, Kingsbury won - Kolmakov won a silver medal.
The representative of the Kazakhstan ski jumping team Ilya Mizernykh became the winner of the Gangwon-2024 Winter Youth Olympic Games (South Korea).
After the first jump on a normal springboard, Miserny held third place. However, with the second jump, he improved his result, completing his performance in the final first place.
