KAZAKHSTAN CROSS-COUNTRY SKI TEAM PARTICIPATES IN THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP IN SHCHUCHINSK
In Shchuchinsk, cross-country skiing competitions were held at the Olympic Training Center. The results of the 50 km women’s mass start have been determined.
FIS CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING COMPETITIONS IN SHCHUCHINSK
From March 21 to 31, 2026, the 3rd stage of the Eastern Europe Cross-Country Skiing Cup will take place in Shchuchinsk. The races will be held in Sprint, Interval Start, and Mass Start disciplines.
Ski Jumping: Kazakhstan National Team on the International Stage
Kazakhstan’s athletes won three more medals at an international ski jumping tournament.
At the Orlen Cup ski jumping competition, held in Zakopane, Poland, the Kazakhstan team added more awards to their tally.
In the K-95 hill event for adults, Sergey Tkachenko stood out. With a score of 255.5 points, he won the competition. Silver went to the Pole Andrzej Stękała (243.5 points), and bronze was claimed by his compatriot Adam Niżnik (241 points).
Our athletes also performed well in the youth categories. In the under-21 age group, Daniil Kalinkin took bronze, and among participants under 18, Artyom Meshkov finished third.
Giant Slalom & Slalom - UK Championship (Santa Caterina)
At the British National Championships in Santa Caterina, Alexandra Skorokhodova showed strong progress.
She finished 9th in the giant slalom, securing a top-10 result. In the slalom event, with over 60 athletes from 17 countries competing, she achieved an impressive 4th place.
These results highlight her strong form, consistency, and growing competitiveness on the international stage.

FIS CROSS-COUNTRY SKI TRAINING SEMINARS STARTED IN SHCHUCHINSK
From March 14 to March 20, 2026, training seminars “FIS Cross-Country Training Camp” are scheduled to be held at the Winter Sports Olympic Training Center in Shchuchinsk. The event is organized in cooperation with representatives of the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS).
Downhill - British Championship (Italy)
After the World Championships, Alexandra Skorokhodova continued competing in Italy at the British National Championships.
In the downhill event, she placed 21st. The race served as an important part of preparation and course adaptation, as well as an opportunity to test speed against a strong international field.

Excellent Result for Kazakhstan National Team Athletes in Ski Jumping
Ilya Mizernykh set a new Kazakhstan record — the athlete jumped 219 meters on the K-250 hill!
The competition took place in Austria, and the previous record belonged to Sergey Tkachenko, who achieved 199.5 meters in 2019.
Alexandra Skorokhodova: Olympic Results and Future Plans
Kazakh alpine skier Alexandra Skorokhodova summed up her debut at the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Milan-Cortina. She expressed satisfaction with her performance and the experience gained, highlighting her result in the super-G — finishing in the top 30 (25th place) — as an important step forward. Her runs in the giant slalom were also solid and productive. Alexandra plans to work on stability, especially in speed events, and on confidence at the start. At this level, every detail matters: technique, tactics, and experience. Her coaching staff is pleased with her progress, particularly in the super-G, and recognizes positive momentum for future development. The atmosphere of the Olympics left a lasting impression — the energy of the competition and being among the world’s top athletes was unforgettable. After the Games, she will immediately return to training and compete at the Junior World Championships in all four disciplines, continuing to gain experience. Long-term goals include the 2029 Asian Games in Almaty, aiming for medals, and preparation for the 2030 Winter Olympics. Support in her preparation and performances was provided by Sport Qory, Samruk-Kazyna, her coaching staff, team, family, and fans.
Junior World Championship (Narvik)
The Junior World Alpine Skiing Championships kicked off in Narvik, Norway. In the Super-G event, Kazakhstan’s Alexandra Skorokhodova finished in 21st place. The race featured strong competition among the world’s top junior athletes, with minimal time gaps in the middle of the standings. This start marked a confident beginning to the البطولة and set a solid pace for the upcoming events. We express our gratitude to Samruk-Kazyna and Sport Qory for supporting the athlete.
Slalom - Junior World Championship (Narvik)

Ski Jumping: Kazakhstan National Championship in Almaty
Sergey Tkachenko became the Kazakhstan champion in ski jumping.
In Almaty, at the International Ski Jumping Complex “Sunkar,” the Kazakhstan National Ski Jumping Championship concluded. During the competition, Sergey Tkachenko set a new national record for jump distance. Tkachenko, a representative of the National Ski Team of Kazakhstan, is an international-class master of sport, a medalist of the Junior World Championship, a European Cup medalist, an Asian Games medalist, a World Winter Universiade medalist, and a participant in two Olympic Games.
